Sad little Face

Naomi is doing great physically and doesn't seem to be in any pain . But, she seems sad or depressed. She is not crawling much and is not her happy girl self. She keeps pointing to outside and wants to swing but when we go out she is cranky. We got a wagon this morning and maybe it will help to wheel her around in the yard. I am wondering if this is part of her grieving her independence and even the loss of her foot. I can imagine she doesn't understand it will be temperary; but we keep telling her she will get a new foot that works better. Sad to see her like this.

Aww, poor little thing. I would bet she is missing her independance more than her feet, though there is probably some of both. I wonder if you could show her a video or pictures of someone putting on a prosthetic leg. Hmm, maybe if I can find a charged video camera I can get Paulina to do one and send it to you or at least post it on my blog for you to show her.

Oh, what a sad little face indeed. I'm sure there's all kinds of stuff going on in her little heart and mind. It's a huge change for her. For all of you, really. I'm sure there's lots for her to process.

I'm just sooooooo glad that she has you guys thru it all. A real mommy and daddy who can teach her that she is loved unconditionally and that Jesus has a plan and a purpose for her life. To contemplate the alternative for our girls is unfathomable.

I'll be praying!

Dear ones...Tracy from the Gang's Momma (above comment) wrote us an email and gave us the link to your blog read of Naomi's challenges. She thought perhaps we might be an encouragement to y'all during this difficult time. Our little 5 1/2 yr old Chloe, lost her foot in an accident almost 3 yrs ago. Our daughters circumstances are different but they have faced some of the same challenges. Our little Chloe is thriving and doing WELL so take heart and keep hope...God will undertake for these children and be their strength. It is a process...an ongoing on for sure. I would love to chat via email if you would like, please feel free to write with any questions or if you just want to talk. God bless you and your sweet family richly!!

Paulina's video is on my blog now. She made it just for Naomi. I had to wait for him high schooler to come home and get it to load for me! I knew there was a reason I kept that kid around! LOL

Oh that face - I can just sit here and sense the sadness! You can know that she is - indeed all of you guys are - grieving her loss! I know as a dad that it doesn't make it much easier for you - but let her have her grief so that she can progress through it! If it helps - remember that you guys as a family are really a prayer answered for the darling little girl!

We'll keep praying (and pulling!) for you guys - hugs

My heart sank when I backread your story about Naomi. My heart's in pain too when I see her pictures. But to keep things in the positive side, I know she'll be better in the future--she's lucky to have you as her family. YOur journey might be bumpy but with love and patience, it'll all be well in the end.

Love and Prayers to Naomi!
